Director of Operations
Prior to joining the RWA, Gwil was Innovation Lead at SCUK and, the recently created Save the Children Global Ventures (SCGV). In these roles, he founded the Innovation Bubble/Hive (SCUK's Innovation engine), leading development of strategies for collaboration with locally based entrepreneurs and start-up organisations, together with supporting the scoping of opportunities across innovative finance models. He co-founded 'The Possible' in Ukraine, focussed on enabling impact-driven businesses to renew Ukraine, and supported the creation and development of 'Kumwe Hub' in Rwanda.
He has over 18 years of experience working at senior level in roles across strategy, operations, innovation and finance, including 10 years working in humanitarian response and development contexts in countries such as Lebanon, Kenya, Rwanda, Syria and Tanzania. Gwil has led several transformation projects, across different sectors, including within the UK’s largest police service, London’s Metropolitan Police Service. Gwil holds an MBA from Cranfield University and is an alumni of Said Business School (Oxford University) Impact Investment executive programme.
Outside of work, Gwil is a huge sports fan, although its more watching than playing these days! He does still dabble around the tennis court and enjoys swimming.
